Cleaning your sprinkler heads at least once a year helps your lawn stay green and even throughout the year. Watch this quick video on how to clean your sprinkler heads!

Items Needed:


  1. Step 1: Lift Sprinkler Tip

    Use your fingers to grab a hold of the sprinkler tip and pull it up from the housing.

  2. Step 2: Hold In Place

    Clamp the vice grips onto the shaft of the sprinkler tip and adjust as needed so that the sprinkler does not fall back down into the housing while you are working.

  3. Step 3: Remove Filter

    Grab the tip of the sprinkler head by the threaded portion, unscrew, and then remove the filter that is inside the line. (Needle nose pliers can help with this step)

  4. Step 4: Clean

    Use a towel to clean off any debris that may be on the filter.

  5. Step 5: Flush

    Leaving the vice grips in place, turn on the sprinkler system to clean out the line for a few seconds.

  6. Step 6: Reassemble

    Now that everything is clean, reassemble the sprinkler, drop it back down into the housing, and you are good to go!
